Accessing the Categories Section
To add a new category to your content, follow these initial steps:
- Enter the Admin Panel: Log into the admin panel of Wise Pub to begin.
- Navigate to Categories: Locate and click on ‘Categories’ under the ‘Resources’ dropdown menu on the left-hand side. This will bring you to the category management area.
Creating a New Category
Starting the Creation Process
- Initiate Category Creation: Click on the ‘Create Category’ button. This will open a new form where you will define the details of the new category.
Filling Out Category Details
- Category Name: Enter the name of the category in the ‘Category*’ field. This name is how the category will be displayed across the site.
- Slug: Provide a unique identifier in the ‘Slug*’ field, which will be used in URLs to represent this category.
- Category Color: Select a color for the category by clicking on the ‘Category Color’ option. This color can be used to visually distinguish the category in lists or charts.
- Description: Add a brief description in the ‘Description’ field to explain the purpose of the category or any specific details that users should know.
Setting Subscriptions and Permissions
Subscriptions: If you wish to restrict the category to certain subscribers, specify which subscription levels should have access to this category.
Finalizing the Category Creation
Create Options: You have multiple options for saving your new category:
- Cancel: If you decide not to create the new category, click the ‘Cancel’ button to exit without saving.
- Create & Add Another: Use this button if you wish to save the current category and immediately start creating another one.
- Create Category: Click this button to save the new category and return to the category list.
Post-Creation
Once you have created a category, it will appear in the category list where you can edit or delete it as needed. New categories will be available for association with any relevant content you manage on your site.
