Google User Data
WisePub’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
When you connect your Google or YouTube account to WisePub, we access data via Google APIs solely to provide the re-streaming feature you have authorized — specifically, to initiate and manage live streams on your YouTube channel from our streaming platform. We do not:
- Sell your Google user data or YouTube data to third parties.
- Transfer your Google user data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to the feature you authorized.
- Use your Google user data to serve you advertisements, including retargeted or personalized ads.
- Allow humans to read your Google user data, except (a) with your explicit consent for a specific message, (b) where necessary for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), (c) to comply with applicable law, or (d) where the data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
We share Google user data only in these limited circumstances:
- With Google itself, as required to execute the API calls you authorize (e.g., starting a YouTube live broadcast on your behalf).
- With our hosting and infrastructure providers (such as our cloud hosting, streaming servers, and database providers) strictly as necessary to operate the WisePub platform and deliver the service you requested. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
- When required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful government request.
- In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case we will notify you and ensure the acquiring party honors this privacy policy.
How We Protect Your Data
WisePub takes the security of your personal information and Google user data seriously and implements industry-standard safeguards to protect it from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Our data protection mechanisms include:
- Encryption in transit: All data exchanged between your browser, our servers, and Google’s APIs is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS) to prevent interception.
- Encryption at rest: Sensitive data, including OAuth access and refresh tokens used to connect to Google services, is stored in encrypted form within our databases.
- Access controls: Access to systems containing user data is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis, protected by strong authentication and role-based permissions.
- Secure infrastructure: Our servers are hosted with reputable providers that maintain physical and network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and regular security patching.
- Minimum scope principle: We request only the OAuth scopes strictly necessary to deliver the features you have authorized, and we revoke tokens when no longer needed or upon your request.
- Token revocation: You may revoke WisePub’s access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account permissions page. Upon revocation, we stop accessing your Google data and delete associated tokens from our systems.
- Incident response: In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities in accordance with applicable law.
How Long We Retain Your Data
Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically. For users registering on our website, we store personal information provided in their user profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (username cannot be changed). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Google OAuth tokens are retained only for as long as your Google account remains connected to WisePub. When you disconnect your account or revoke access, associated tokens are deleted from our systems.
Your Rights Over Your Data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including data you’ve provided. You can also request erasure of personal data we hold about you. This excludes data we’re obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
