How to Use Tags in WisePub: Complete Content Organization Guide

Introduction

In this guide, you’ll learn how to create, manage, and assign tags to organize your content effectively in WisePub. By the end of this tutorial, you’ll have a fully functional tagging system that helps your audience find relevant content quickly and reduces the need for manual content organization.

Step 1: Access the Tag Management Section

Objective: Navigate to the tag creation and management area

  1. Log into your WisePub backend dashboard
  2. Navigate to the “Content” section in the main menu
  3. Click on “Tags” – you should see this option listed under the Content section
  4. You’ll now see the Tag Management interface where you can view existing tags and create new ones

Expected Result: You should see a list of any existing tags and options to create new ones.

Step 2: Create New Tags

Objective: Set up tags that will categorize your content effectively

  1. Click the “Create New Tag” button or similar option in the tag management area
  2. Enter your tag name in the name field (e.g., “Market News”, “Video Lessons”, “Short Selling”)
  3. Click “Save” or “Create” to add the tag to your system
  4. Repeat this process for all the tags you want to create

Expected Result: Your new tags should appear in the tag list and be available for assignment to content.

Pro Tip: Create tags that reflect your content categories and topics your audience frequently searches for. Keep tag names clear and consistent.

Step 3: Assign Tags to Content

Objective: Apply your created tags to existing or new content

  1. Navigate to the content you want to tag (Posts, Pages, Courses, or Lessons)
  2. Click “Edit” on the content item you want to tag
  3. Locate the “Tags” section in the content editor (usually in a sidebar or below the content area)
  4. Select the appropriate tags from the dropdown or checkbox list
  5. Save or update the content to apply the tags

Expected Result: The tags should now be visible on your content when viewed on the frontend.

Available Content Types for Tagging:

  • Posts
  • Pages
  • Courses (LMS feature)
  • Lessons (LMS feature)

Step 4: Set Up Tag Navigation for Users

Objective: Create easy access to tagged content for your website visitors

  1. Go to your menu management section in the WisePub backend
  2. Add a new menu item (typically in sidebar or main navigation)
  3. Set the URL to “/tags” – this is the root URL for your tag system
  4. Add an appropriate label like “Tags” or “Browse Topics”
  5. Choose a tag icon if your theme supports icons
  6. Position the menu item where it makes sense in your navigation structure
  7. Save your menu changes

Expected Result: Visitors can now click on “Tags” in your menu to see all available tags organized alphabetically (A to Z).

Step 5: Enable AI-Powered Tag Suggestions (Optional)

Objective: Automate tag assignment based on content analysis

Prerequisites for AI Tagging:

  • AI settings must be enabled in your account
  • Contact WisePub support if you don’t see AI options in settings

Setup Process:

  1. Navigate to “Settings” in your WisePub backend
  2. Click on “AI” or “AI Settings”
  3. Locate “Posts and Content” section
  4. Enable “Tag Suggestions” by checking the appropriate box
  5. Save your settings

Expected Result: When creating new content, the system will automatically suggest relevant tags based on your content and existing tag library.

Step 6: Test AI Tag Suggestions

Objective: Verify that automated tagging works correctly

  1. Create a new post with content that relates to your existing tags
  2. Add your content to the post editor
  3. Save or publish the post
  4. Wait 1-2 minutes for the AI analysis to complete
  5. Refresh the page or check the tag section
  6. Review the suggested tags and accept or modify as needed

Expected Result: The AI should suggest relevant tags based on your content. You may need to fine-tune suggestions as this is a beta feature.

Pro Tip: The AI analyzes your content text against your existing tag library to make suggestions, so having well-defined tags improves accuracy.

How Users Navigate Tagged Content

Tag Browsing Experience:

  • Users visit /tags to see all available tags
  • Tags are organized alphabetically (A-Z)
  • Clicking on a tag shows all content with that tag
  • Users can search within tagged content
  • Content can be filtered by type (posts, pages, etc.)

Troubleshooting

Issue: Can’t find the Tags section under Content Solution: Ensure you have the proper permissions and that the tagging feature is enabled for your account. Contact WisePub support if needed.

Issue: AI tag suggestions aren’t working Solution: Verify that AI settings are enabled in your account and that you have existing tags created. The feature requires a few minutes to process after content creation.

Issue: Tags not appearing on frontend content Solution: Check that your theme supports tag display and that you’ve saved the content after assigning tags.

Issue: AI suggests irrelevant tags Solution: This is normal for the beta feature. You can manually adjust suggestions and provide feedback to improve the AI over time.
