In Browser Streaming Overview

Overview

Local streaming in WisePub allows you to stream directly from your browser without requiring external tools like OBS. This feature enables you to share your screen and audio with participants in your trading room using only your web browser.

Prerequisites

Before you can use local streaming, ensure that:

• The local streaming feature is enabled in your account
• If you don’t see the streaming option described below, contact support to have it enabled
• No other streaming session is currently active in the room

Getting Started with Local Streaming

Step 1: Access the Streaming Option

1. Navigate to your trading room
2. Look for the “Open Streaming” button, which appears when no streaming session is active
3. If another stream is running, you’ll need to stop it first before starting your local stream

Step 2: Configure Your Stream Settings

Microphone Selection

• Click on the streaming option to open the configuration panel
• Select your preferred microphone from the available options
• Note: You can change your microphone selection even after streaming has started

Screen Selection

• Choose the screen you want to share with participants
• Currently, only screen sharing is supported (camera streaming is not available)
• Select from your available screens or monitors

Step 3: Start Streaming

1. Once you’ve configured your microphone and screen settings, click “Go Live”
2. The system will show a “Connected” status when your stream is active
3. All participants in the room will now be able to see your shared screen and hear your audio

Managing Your Stream

Changing Audio Settings During Stream

Switch Microphone:

• Click on the microphone settings while streaming
• Select a different microphone from the dropdown menu
• Changes take effect immediately

Mute/Unmute:

• Use the mute button to temporarily disable your audio
• This is useful when you want to continue screen sharing but handle other tasks privately
• Click unmute when you’re ready to resume audio

Screen Sharing Features

• Participants will see everything displayed on your selected screen
• Any videos, applications, or content on that screen will be visible to viewers
• Audio from videos or applications on your shared screen will be transmitted to participants

Ending Your Stream

Stop Streaming

1. Click the “Stop” button to end your streaming session
2. This immediately disconnects your stream from the room
3. Close the streaming panel when you’re finished

Post-Stream

• Other participants will no longer see your screen or hear your audio
• The “Open Streaming” option will become available again for you or other users

Important Notes

• Only screen sharing is currently supported; direct camera streaming is not available
• Ensure you have a stable internet connection for optimal streaming quality
• Test your microphone and screen selection before going live with important presentations
• Remember that all participants in the room will see and hear your shared content

Troubleshooting

Can’t see the streaming option?

• Contact support to enable local streaming for your account

Stream won’t start?

• Verify that no other stream is currently active in the room
• Check your browser permissions for microphone and screen sharing access

Audio issues?

• Verify your microphone selection in the streaming settings
• Check that your microphone is not muted at the system level
